Life Transitions

As Greek philosopher, Heraclitus, is credited with saying: “change is the only constant in life”. If that is the case, then why is it that sometimes it’s so hard to adapt? Maybe it’s a change that you’ve welcomed, such as moving to a new community, or one you didn’t see coming, such as a new health diagnosis.

Sometimes we can take the changes in our lives “in stride”, while other times they seem to knock us off course. The challenging life transitions often require us to redefine who we are as an individual and where we fit in our community. There is often a grief component as we let go of what was, and a level of anxiety as we try to anticipate what will be.

In supporting you through life transitions I’ll help you explore what the external change means for you as an individual. We’ll explore how it affects your sense of identity, self-esteem, and primary relationships. Then I’ll help you get grounded in your new sense of self so you can determine how to move forward in your new reality.
