Low Mood and Depression

We all feel “low” sometimes - sad, tired, numb - but when it persists it can feel suffocating. People are often worried that if they allow themselves to feel the depth of their sadness that they will never be able to get out of it, like a deep, dark, pit of despair. What experience and research shows us though is that “what we resist, persists” - in other words, if we keep avoiding these feelings they will get stronger and our ability to experience comfort, happiness, and joy will be compromised.

I use a mixture of systems- and body-centred therapies to help create safety around exploring these deep feelings of sadness and despair so that they can start to dissipate. I’ll help pace the process and build on your personal and inner resources so that you can practice touching on these feelings, coming out of them, and ultimately letting them go. This can be a challenging process but ultimately a very empowering one as you experience the relief of not having to constantly avoid difficult feelings.
